Support for students scheduled to present a talk or poster
We are happy to announce that the ISGS Executive Board has made funding available for 18 student stipends (bursaries). Each stipend consists of a waiver of the early registration fee for ISGS members ($300) and student membership ($24) for the remainder of 2014. Students (PhD, MA, or BA candidates) who have had an abstract accepted for a talk or poster presentation, and who need financial assistance in order to be able to attend the conference, are eligible to apply.
An application consists of (a) a 300-word statement sent to ISGS2014stipend@gmail.com outlining why you should be granted the stipend, including details of how your research relates to the aims of the ISGS (http://gesturestudies.com/) and what other sources of support you have obtained or applied for, and (b) either a signed statement on letterhead scanned as a PDF or an e-mail directly from your advisor/supervisor or current professor/lecturer, verifying your student status and supporting your application. The deadline for applications is March 23rd, 2014.
